Mud Lites on an Eiger
#1
I am looking to upgrade the stock 25" tires on my 2004 Eiger to a set of 26" ITP Mud Lites. Everything on the quad is currently stock. Does anyone know if this upgrade will cause any problems (i.e. - spacing, rubbing, control, performance etc.)?

They will fit. You will lose a little power but they work well. A friend of mine has an eiger with 25in 589s and he loves the grip and the fact that he was able to keep close to the stock diameter, big difference between 25in and 26in with mudlites.

If your worried about a power loss but really want the 26"ers check out the 26x9x12's for the front and 26x10x12's for the back. If you have an Auto I highly recommend putting this size on, its about as light as you can get for 26". If you think a power loss isn't a good trade for the bigger tires, get the 25's.

Thanks for the input. I am somewhat concerned about the power loss, although for a 400 I think the Eiger can hang with the best of them. Would switching to aluminum rims help offset some of the power loss? If so, maybe I'll go with the 25" ML's w/ aluminum rims. Most of my riding is on fairly smooth trails with only occasional dips into deep mud, so maybe the deeper lugs on the 26" won't be necessary.
Thanks
p.s. - Yes, 2cents it is an auto.

I highly recommend the 26"ers!!!!
However my problem is an off idle bog and the 26's have made it a little worse. The Epi clutch kit seems to work very well in my auto. I recommend it too.
Anyone have any ideas on the lack of power right off idle. She idles great and once the revs get higher she screams, but I have no power at lower RPMs. This started before I got the 26's and has steadly gotten worse.
Aksafari, where are you?
