Default My yoshi 450 vs. Yfz-450

Well i got my engine back from yoshimura and its a BEAST. Lots of torque..... took it out today and i drag raced my buddys yfz-450 about 15 times, (probably not good for braking engine in) His 450 has a GYTR exhaust, jetted, and open airbox with the K&n setup. My yoshi would pull harder in every gear. Before we even raced we test drove each others quad and my just felt more powerfull from the down low to up high. ITS SWEET. I would beat him every time unless i would mess up shifting because i would miss second alot.( The shifter was to high). Its not even broken in yet so i am sure my yoshi will just keep getting faster. Right now it has about 3 hours on it.

Over all the price was about $1900.00 that includes the labor and port and polish. With out the port and polish the total is 1490.00. Just the kit is 970.00, but its a wise choice to have them do it for 1490.00. I am probably at 48-50 hp and yes its the same engine as doug gust. MAN ITS SO SMOOTH I LOVE IT.

Hell ya it moves, the only thing i have to complain about is the stupid twist throttle i put on it, man I HATE IT. I am also going to order a 5hp and 10hp shot from boondockers. I dont want to spray to much, it should be able to easly handle the extra ponies. That will be my ace up my sleave!!! JUST IN CASE

Hey MURDR, I just got a Z400 and Iam considering doing the Yoshi 450 kit eventually. I was just wondering exactly what they do to the engine? I believe they stroke it and bore it a little? Also how long did it take for them to do your engine? Any thing you can tell me about it would be great, Also...you probably wont know this yet but do you think it will be reliable? I hate having a quad thats braking down all the time but It would be sweet to have that kind of power! Thanx A lot in advance

The prices are listed above in earlier reply. I wasnt looking back much scrambler132 so i cant tell, i didnt see the front of his quad at all in the race. I just kept pulling even more, it was only a short drag and i am still getting used to the quad agian. No my friend has not done the cam mod. but from what i seen in the yamaha forums dynos you loose power and they are minor improvements.
