Default quadrunner has an attitude... help!!

allright. howdy everyone out there in internet land. ive got myself an 88 2X4 suzuki quadrunner. this message is going to be 2 parts- 1 part question and 1 part bash.ok here i go

i need to change the oil on my quad and i have no idea how much to put in- noone has info on it. and also, what can i do to put some more dang umph into this thing? its not bad but it could use some more power- but its a hella machine with 25 inch bear claws on it. but also, tell me if this is what im thinking of, and how to fix it. if i go down the road and im really givin it hell, and if you shift and then just gun the throttle after you shift, you feel something rumble, kinda like youre peeling out, but not. im thinking its the clutch, its the only thing that hasnt been changed. is there a way how to tighten up the clutch? i think its worn out though. anyways- TO THE BASH!!!

OK, why dual a-arm drivetrain when the suspension is so damn tight? its like riding my old atc70 again. and where the hell is the dipstick? a little glass circle wont cut it. the gears and differential make so much noise, i cant even hear the motor, so im gonna have to stick a different pipe on it so i can hear it going down the road.also... its a total slug and with huge tires, barely hits 45

the only true praise i have about this is the low gears, this thing will go everywhere. please give me some help. thanks.DAVE

Um, what is wrong with your site window again? It is probably easier to tell when the engine is full with this system than a dipstick. Also, every Suzuki bike I have ever owned has the cc amount of oil to put in casted right into the engine covers next to the oil fill hole. Usually they take a touch under a quart to fill. What size engine do you have, and does it have a manual or auto clutch? Gears/diff shouldn't be real loud on that bike. Looking for more power? Go for an exhaust, air filter, and rejet the carb. Other than that it probably isn't worth putting a ton of money into. If it is the 230/250 engine, they just don't have a ton of beans and probably can't pull those big tires well. I had 20's on my old mans 230 for a while, and it woke up a bit. Good Luck.

ok- heres what it is. its an 88 quadrunner 250. its got an auto clutch- not an auto transmission- you just dont have a hand clutch. never knew that was the oil fill ammount by the window. it says 3000 something ml. so i gotta convert it. i can never find an exhaust for this bike, but i found a guy that had a totally stock suzuki 250 quadrunner 4X4. since mine has a few cha chings put into it and his is stock, i'd ask him if i put a full underbelly kit and a big *** storage box, if hed make it an even trade, because i dont know how you can live without 4wd on these things. mine is HORRIBLE about getting stuck, even in a 9 inch deep puddle if its slick or the bottom comes through on you. thats louisiana for ya. true about not wanting to put a bunch of money into it, ive fallen into the money pit before. but yes, once you get up to 4th or 5th gear it will make a high pitch wistle, and im guessing its the diff. but anyhoo, if anyone wants to trade atv's, come on.

3000 ml seems a bit much. With the quad on level ground, you should be able to use the level indicators on the site window to fill w/o even having to measure anything.
