aww..no..what the hell would you do that for..the dr 650 motor only makes 48 hp..the stock z400 makes 38..why not make a little mods to get it up the ten hp..my buddy has a z400 that has ayoshi kit and a ton of other mods and i bet his z400 makes 55hp..

motor sounds interesting.....id prolly consider the swap.....another 250 cc's couldn't hurt n e thing unless the motor is alot heavier

hp wise id have no clue about the 650 but the Z400 motor is prolly alot closer to 28-32 hp not 38

38 hp???.....NO WAY. A stock Z makes 30 hp on average. Every dyno will be a little different but on average you'll see 30 out of a Z. As far as the motor swap goes...well id like to see it done. I dont know anything about the 650 motor. hey we might see a Z650 some day. Now wouldnt that be a B**CH slap to the Raptor...lol

Default dr 650 motor in a Z400??

people put the 650ex motor in a 400ex frame ...... so why not a dr650 in a z400...

its kinda funny i was thinking of doing this same thing with my kfx.

alos the 650 motor has more potential then the 400cc motor, so id take that 650 pipe it, new cams, bigbore(if it can be done) bigger/better carb. that 650 will make 60hp no problem... my guess is the 650 weighs about 10lbs-20lbs more then the z motor.
