I have a vinson manual and am considering a K/quad but dealers down here in New Zealand dont have demo bikes so cant test one.Anyone know how they feel on long slippery downhills????

It has some engine braking but here in Texas we don't have any 'big' hills so I wouldn't be able to help you with that part of it.

Engine braking is as good as it gets on auto's. In low it holds you back to 2 or 3 mph on steep hills...got to give it gas to keep from sliding. In high it seems to not hold back as well, but still good for trail riding type hills, for the nasty stuff you have to use low!

Coming off of a Honda Rincon[worst engine braking out there]the King Quad has some very good engine braking IMO.I can go to low range on a steep hill and keep the quad around 2-3 mph, thats pretty good if you ask me.

Here is Utah we have some big hills so engine braking is something really important to me. I also had a Rincon and it had very little engine braking. The King Quad has good engine braking, especially in low range. If you descending a really steep hill it will hold back for a few feet and then start to pick up speed. If you tap the brake it will slow it down and it will hold again. It is actually very controlled, more than you would think, even having to tap the brakes on steep descents. I like it on downhills.

I have found that the KINGQUAD wants to slide the rear tires in low rage going down a very steep hill and using the engine brake, but if I put it in 4-wheel drive and Low it does not want to break loose and slide as bad.
