lt250r carb question
I did a search and was reading all the threads on carb jetting. However, I found myself not understanding what the "needle and clip" settings were all about. Is this the needle in the slide? Any help would be great. I just replaced my carb and don't want to blow my LT up.
Just for clarification, 240 main is the stock jetting for a '86 right (34mm)? What was the stock pilot? I installed a 36mm and I'm just trying to get an idea of what I should be looking at running.

i had an 86. The stock jetting was 200 MJ and 35 Piolit (dont quote me on the Piolit) The Needle clip is in the top of the carb, you have to take the cable off to accsess it and change the settings. If the clip is at the bottem of the needle, that would be lean, if it is at the top, that would be rich.

Thanks for the great info! The air screw is the one that can be turned by hand right? It opens the slide alittle (on both my carbs it didn't seem to move the slide much at all or have much effect). The Fuel/air mixture screw is the brass one that requires a little screw driver? F/A screw is is used to set the idle, correct?

you are correct. the screw that you can turn by hand is the air screw. Mine is the same way. I can turn it quite alot and it doesnt change much, but it does matter and needs to be set correctly or your mixture will not be the same. I also have an 86 LT. Let me know if the 36mm carb performs that much better. I was thinking about switching but wasnt sure if it would be worth it. Thanks for any info.
