Default Squeeking breaks on z250

My brother somehow or another adjusted his breaks just a little too tight, so they had a little bit of drag (not locking or anything) Now his rear break squeeks everytime over around 10mph, So I'm guessing we need to take the drum apart and sand the pads or something?

all brake rotors/drums will glaze if they get to hot from the brakes being to tight
it works the same on cars/trucks. I'm a diesel mech. for a pool plastering company and I see it all the time

How do i go about removing the glazing? Or does he need new break shoes all together?

just take some rough sandpaper and sand both pads and the rotor just enough to rough up the surface
