Default Frame gussets for LT230S?

Does anyone know where I could get frame gussets and how much they would cost for a 230 Quadsport?

your best bet is just to make them, 1/8th inch thick mild steel works well.

Does anyone know exactly where gussets would be needed on the frame?

depends how hard you are going to be riding it... i'm not really sure why you need gussets on a 230 in the first place, but if you have your reasons i'll be happy to help.

I really love my 230 and I don't want to give it up for another quad, plus its a piece of atv history. I want to strengthen the frame for jumping (3-5' tall jumps).

I cracked the frame tube on both sides about 4'' in front of the shock mounts and the tubes are bent down about 1/4''. I was thinking i could bend the tubes back up, weld them, then cut a larger diamater tube and weld it around the spot where it cracked to strengthen that area.

most of the cracks i've seen happen around the lower fraim rails where the a-arms connect and near the forward upper a-arm mounts...

here is a diagram of the frame... if you could download the pic and draw in red where yours has cracked then pm me and i'll give you an email address to send it to.

A very common place for the frames to fail on 230's is on the shifter side frame upright that is under the seat. You have to pull the plastics to see where it breaks. It is on the frame section that goes from behind the motor mounts in the rear, up to the spine, that the seat and tank are on. It's just about directly under where your butt would be. I have had 3 230's crack here, and always on the chain side. Not all of them break here, as I have a 230 I am riding, and a 230s frame in the attic that are both crack free. We the 230 I am riding WAS crack free. I have beat it pu pretty badly since then, and wouldn't be surprised if it was cracked.
