yes i did. and i personally love my twist grip although many on here do not. i dont recommevd u do it unless you are experienced or fully aware of the effects.(when you find yourself in a falling back position you may find yourself giving it gas on accident)

Default Twistgrip throttle?

I changed my thumb throttle to a twist throttle the second day I had the quad. I'll never use a thumb style again
and like what was said prior if your not used to riding with a twist it can be dangerous

Hi, I changed 1 of my prairies over to a twist grip throttle( because of a wrecked thumb). I go back and forth between my wife's 650 and my 700 quite a bit and find that they both have their place in riding. I beleive that any riding you do with your quad should be done with a little caution and daring at the same time. I hope you can enjoy either set up. I know mine has made riding a pleasure for me, since the install of my T G T.
cheers to all, drive safe and get it in the mud.

Yeah I got rid of my thumb throttle and love the twist throttle. Like everyones said you just have to be carefull.... I've came close to eatin shiat before because of the twist throttle but it outways the thumb throttle. This should only be applied to experienced riders.

Good luck.

I had a twist on my LT and don't like it at all. I found a factory thumb trottle and will be installing it this week. Like the guys said, it takes some getting used to and depending on your style of riding might not work for ya. Flat roads and open...nice. Sloped terrain or jumps...not nice. Some like it. I don't I'll have two different twist throttles up for grabs btw. I'm not sure where to posts atv classifieds, I'm certianly not going to pay for it on this site.

Go with the twist, the thumber is a bummer. I'd always hit a bump or root or somethin' in the trail and stab the thumb throttle. When this happens one must be handy with the "evasive maneuvers" if you know what I mean. Trees hurt, I recommend dodging them whenever possible.

I have been contemplating getting a twist for the little Z cause I really love the twist throttle when I ride my stepdads RM. I am a little worried that it will show just how much of a slow revver my 250 four stroke really is...haha j/k

Don't worry GT, you do what makes you happy, and whatever makes your ride better.

I can't see that a twist throttle on a quad is any more dangerous than on a normal bike?
