The Nikasil is the same coating that Porsche started using in the 80's on the 944 series cars, i am usre it is used on others.

It is funny this came up,because i just got my new piston kit,and it says "do not use in chrome plated cylinders,severe damage may result"

keep in mind that nikasil is not chrome. You can run your wiseco chrome rings on nikasil.

What kind of material would the rings have to be to run them in a chrome cylinder?

Regular cast iron or ductile iron works.

Would cryptonite or dylithium crystal rings work more efficiently than irol? although there might be some problem with radiation.
