Every automatic that i have had will pull the weight or spin the tires in the low side. Never have i had a belt smoke, He may had the quad in high range. Only he would no.

The belt on suzi and yami arent suppose to slip. The belt is always under tension, and the only way it can slip, is if the motor is reving above the centrifical clutch engagement and the tires are not moving. Then the belt could slip (something has to give), and it wouldnt take long for the belt to glaze the pulley.
There is no requirement on a suzi or a yami to be in low for any reason other than because you want to be. But if youre nailing it hard, and the tires arent spinning...damage is occouring.

I certainly would. By the way the dealer explained it and the way he handled it the dealer needs an apoligy. Do you not realize you could have easily worked this problem out like a civilzed person? If you would have just stated your problem and maybe throw the dealer 5$ as a tip this whole thing could have been resolved. An example, before I bought the z400 my son would go in and bug the dealer all the time and usually not even buy anything. I'm not sure if he was bored or what but he loved to talk to the dealer. The dealer was very nice to my son and never shewed him away. Therefore when I did buy the z400 I gave the guy $75 for just putting up with my jabbermouth kid, be nice to people, things in life will be much better.

How long have you had the atv? If there was a problem with it from day one I would have immediatly stopped using it and notified the dealer I purchased it from or taken it in to my nearest dealer right away before continueing to use it and tow while I knew there was a problem with it and risking further damage to it, being under warranty doesn't give you a free pass to damage your atv at free will, if you do something like that you might get away with it, but then Suzuki has to pay money to fix it and guess what nothing in this world is free, it might be free to you, but the bill will eventually get passed down to us all in the form of higher priced atvs in the future. If it is true that there was a problem from day one, and judging from your reactions and how you inappropriatly manifest your frustrations I would be willing to bet you got pissed off and ran the crap out of the atv doing your best to damage it out of spite, thinking since it was under warranty you were somehow getting back at Suzuki. Like someone else said, only you really know.

Hondabuster your right, if the tires aren't spinning and you continue to pull, especially in high under a load the pressure is going to get transfered through the drive train and the bike is eventually going to a find the weakest link, bigger/better tires will only accent this by raising the amount of power the atv can put through the drive train before it will spin the tires.

Americanpride, tipping your dealer is an awfully kind gesture, but I personally would not feel right taking a tip. Although one time a customer gave me like ten bucks and try as I might he refused to take it back, he didn't know but I put it in the register and the next time he came in I took ten dollars off his bill. Also out of all the dealerships I've worked in I've never had any customer come in with any kind of a present during the holidays, I had never even considered it really, well christmas eve the shop table was over flowing with cakes, fudge, cards, and very thoughtful hand made gifts from a whole bunch of our customers, I've never worked in a dealership I didn't enjoy(ok well Acura kind of sucked, but only because of one manager) but I've never had a such a sense of pride in any place I've worked before. Anyways enough promoting myself and my dealership, I think you guys that took the time to read what I've said get the point that we aren't an evil stealership.

ok first of all my real name is Adam Perry

sorry to disagree with you but my dealer said yamaha pays for all of the warranty hours they turn in to them as well as parts ......so providing good warranty is for a dealer to turn his head the other way and fix the problem! again this is what my dealer has done to my friends quads for them!!! and quite frankly they beat the heck out of there machines .......so if it is 6months and 1 day after when he bought the machine you would not warranty it ......am i correct .....i do believe our dealer would fix it and put different date on the fix papers or put it on a different machine. (THEY KNOW CUSTOMER CARE!!!!) they ought to bow down and kiss the customer b/c that is there business!!! and if i pay a higher price in the begining so what.... because I know i will get it back when i go in there for accessories as he sells them to us at very close to cost...... does your dealer sell tires other than the OEM tire? cause if you do then you are saying that you are voiding there warranty based on a different tire ......this is BS !!!!!!!!!!!!

our dealer sells tires, rims and the works.....you are saying this voids the warranty because they have more grip .....come on PAHHLEASE

i commend you on even responding because i really didn't think you would! and i do think that the guy had rights to get mad! although he didn't control himself at all!!! which is not right either.........i realize that you don't make as much car dealers as my uncle is a gm car salesman.
