was it out of oil? or did the oil pump stop pumping because the filter got clogged, and ran low on oil pressure..

**** after this i might toss the fram for a k&n, but 2800mi doesnt lie, the frams been fine, with mobil 1 10w30 synthetic.

STEP AWAY FROM THE FILTERS! ****, talk about inciting a "mini riot', not to mention defamation........All Vinson owners that have refused to pay dealer price for a Suzuki filter and went w/ a Fram, raise your hands. Now, those folks that went w/ Fram and can site filter failure (leakage--or had engine failure-Vinsongurl excluded) raise your hands. Nobody? Thought so. Do you think Fram would still be in business if they made faulty filters? No, I don't work for Fram, I just like the fact that they have filters that seem to be imune to dealer gouging. OK, I'm through now

emgo is a suzuki factory filter.

by useing fram i feel its good, i use them in ALL of my cars, and so does the rest of my family.

to me emgo, sounds to much like amigo,,,, an da leeeey... and mexican cheapness...

well lets put it this way

2002 suzuki vinson 500- 2900mi fram filters, web cam, and piped, and jetted, 0 problems.
1998 ford ranger- 136,000mi fram tough guard, PH 8A no problems- and its a bigger filter then the motorcraft one.
1999- lexus LX470 165,000 mi 0 problems ,fram
1985 BMW european M6- 98,000 k&n fliter
1999 ford explorer--------120,000 miles, motor blew up------ company vehicle, jiffy lube with knock off brand filter, and wrong oil..... now has 6,000 mi on fram guarded mobil one motor!
2004 f-250 superduty turbo diesel- 20,000 FRAM toughguard
2001 BMW 328ci- 64,000 fram
1987 porshe 911 87,ooo k&n filter.
1992- F-350 work truck beat to ****- 370,000miles odometer stopped working, but it always had mobil oil, and a fram filter!

these are just various family vehicles- not to mention the 04 range rover- Dads- , and 03 SC430 lexus- moms, prolly get some cr@ppy filter put in.....

Excuse me vinson581, I had no idea you were the formost authority on oil filters. I've only been using emgo filters since 1970 and had no idea that suzuki made oil filters aswell as aftermarket parts for practicaly every motorcycle and atv sold in the world, thanks for filling us in. NOT !

Ok since we know were in for some fun

I have used most brands of filter, and have to be honest not too many are much more than a damn soda can with some mish mosh paper inside them (ok many have steel tubes and even screens too) and cant say I have been all to impressed with most all of them.

There are a couple of less known (compared to fram) that I thought were better (K&N, Wix) made than most of the others.

My local auto parts guy just got in a demo set up that compares how some filters are made and perform (air and oil) because he was getting frustrated at how many people think they are getting something special when they purchase the "name brand" stuff, and he knew it was wrong and that the other brands were actually better.

I have to say that I wasnt suprized to see that the fram didnt do so well in the comparison, or that the Wix was about the best.

So the more recognizable names are not always the better product, and for those who dont change out their oil before it gets "broken in" its worth it to learn what are really the better filters (not a bad idea for all of us).

Lastly I think our "fram fan" is getting great results from Mobil1 and thats more of whats responsible for the good results, but I also know with a good filter you can run that stuff (and any good synthetic) for 10-30x the normal change times and still get better protection than std oil with any filter.

I will still run a fram when I dont have the time to get the others I prefer, but they get changed out a lot sooner too.

Hope that made sense and I wasnt just rambling cause I know its been a long night
