Need help asap! Did I screw up??

I am doing an oil change on my 04 Z400. Looking at the bike from the front underneath there are 2 holes in my skid plate.
I emptied the one further back and stuff that looks like oil came out, then I realized it is the hole in the front that is the oil drain! What did I drain and how do I put it back??
Thanks for your help!!!!

I did the same thing on my 1rst oil change. I had to do it in the unloading area at the badlands after hydro locking my engine. I unskrewed the same bolt 1rst and thought then realized the plug under the oil tank. Now I always drain both at every oil change. I guess its so you can drain that little bit of oil remaining in the crankcase since the oil tank plug doesn't drain that portion.

Yes your OK I have changed the oil 3 times like this and drained the same small amount from the engine plug each time. I think that is the plug with a built in magnet to catch metal shaving from normal engine wear. I don't know about the book. Never read it.

drain both, thats why its called a dry sump, it keeps a little amount of oil in the case and dont forget the filter
