Which one the vinson or the spotsman 5oo?

Well, we just went for a 100 miles ride today here in the snow, the trails were beautiful, and my buddy had his Sportsman 500 H.O. out with me. after about 30 miles we switched bikes. I found the sportsman to be smooth, and the IRS really helps for comfort. Raw power and handling, I'd say its about the same. The polaris feels just a bit heavier, and comes with much better tires. I say test ride both, and go with the one you prefer, these are 2 excellent machines!

well i have a vinson and i have only gotten it stuck once. that was in a creek that got deeper as i went through it. and my friend has the sportsman and he has been stuck more than me. and he has had it just as long as me. they are both 2003. and sportsmans come with big beefy tires.

I've had problems with both my suzukis....the z400 died out any time it got the least bit wet, the dealership had to fix it...and my vinson if I go through deep water (not floating but like mid-level on the atv) the belt gets wet and slips until it dries....other than that I'm happy with them....o wait...my vinson is blown up and in pieces in the shed.....waiting for a rebuild...but go with the vinny

well i have had nothing wrond with any of them. first the vinson has been trough the ice once, and when i got it out it was running fine. and it was sitting in the water four 15 minutes. second the z400 doesnt die if it gets wet. i have been riding on the lake when there was a bunch of water on there and mine ran fin through the water.

The Polaris might be a little better when it comes to mud because of the IRS. BUT!!! the Polaris has no front only braking and rear only engine braking which could get a little hairy on a downhill decent. Plus they weigh alot more. I have yet to get my Vinson stuck but I've only rode it on flat farm land so far and I try to avoid mud pits as much as possible (I know I'm no fun, but I hate the major cleanup associated with mud). The choice is yours but my vote goes to the Vinson because of it's major fun factor.
