I'm sorry....that was meant for RMK. I hav'nt heard of any dealers giving anyone any problems over it.....I'd bet suzuki will stand behind a flagship as well received as that machine is. They have a good reputation. I'm just bummed about the issue because now I will get a Grizzly. I will have to be using it for plowing as well as recreation and certainly don't want to have to deal with extended down time from such a severe repair at or later date, and dont want to get burned on the cost of it after the warranty expires (nor do I want to pay the money for an extended warranty). What do I tell my customers if its out of service that long? Not that a Griz is a bad machine to say the least, and it probably even suits my needs a bit better with the option of locking the differential fully and getting real full four wheel drive that can be shifted into when already stuck as well as when on the roll (unlike the Kawasaki). I just kinda had my heart set on the KQ because the reviews are so good, suzuki has a good reputation, and it is supposed to have a real smooth ride. I'm just a well informed consumer who wants the best machine for the money in both the long and short term.......

The KQ does have locking fr. diff. Before you stray from your gut, let me find out a couple of things. Stayed tuned-w/in a couple of days.

If it does have a locker its only while you're holding the button down. I prefer the yamaha system where you can lock it and leave it locked until you choose to unlock it. I believe its a limited slip, torque differential or on demand type of system. Everybody has a different name for it and I can't keep them all straight....

I found another post under the suzuki area that says the suzuki front locker is similar to the yamaha griz. I'll keep and eye one it in case anybody disagrees. Theres also a post there for an online petition to zuki to fix the problem.....both owners and perspective owners can sign it.

Ok, I am not a Suzuki rep. Here's the dirt on the dif lock. Right handle bar. Push the button for 4wd. Slide the dif lock lever-that "flat leach" looking thing right above the 4wd button-down. Now, you are in dif. lock, until you flip the lever up again.

RMK144, are you really as stupid as you would have us believe? One isolated incident??? ya that sounds about right lets replace 8,000 ecm's because of one moron. That moron wouldnt happen to be you would it? I cant believe you would come in telling people to get their story straight when you obviously dont have the first clue what you are talking about. I know one guy personally who has lost reverse and I know only 4 people including me who own the king. I know he wasnt stuck in a mudhole pinning the throttle for over a minute. Your ignorance is astonishing.

I'm going to be picking up a new KQ ,red in color, next week. The dealer said he'll have the new ( 01 ) ecm in by then. (01) is the last #'s on the ecm. If it doesn't have 01, then have them (the dealer were you got it) change it out.
Can someone please answer how the Locker works!
Does it stay in Locker mode all the time till you switch the lever down?
Can you use it in High gear?
Also, How does the engine brake work. Is it ALL wheel engine brake?, or is it 2 wheel (rear) engine brake.
Who has the best rear storage rack/seat for the KQ?
How about the Winch? Where do I get a winch with bracket?

Sorry about all the Q's,

Rick

I guess your not to worried about the reverse issue? The locker is just a simpler version of the Grizz's,you just depress the button and slide the lever over the button, done, your locked! You can use it in high gear, but it has it's limits in speed. You sound like your just jumping into buying this wheeler? You should go over to the highlifter forum as there is alot of great info on anything you would ever want to know on the KQ.Good Luck!
