Default 2nd Reverse Failure for Same KQ 700!

"Rambrewster" just posted over on the Highlifter Forum..........he just had his 2nd reverse failure and this time it was after the new ECM was installed. See thread about 2006 Reverse Changes. This is the 2nd machine that has been posted about that has failed after the new ECM has been installed. This is rediculous. If I don't hear something about a permenant fix from Suzuki within a month, I'm selling.

Ya,and you'll be selling it for next to nothing, just cause Suzuki is screwing every KQ owner with their SPINELESS act of a ECM replacement that does nothing more than prolong the problem! This is getting worse everyday, and it's only going DOWN!!

I'm thinking the market might still be good. The KQ is getting tons of good press in the mags and Suzuki is denying any problem. Most potential buyers don't read these forums. Mine is in perfect shape and under 4 year warranty, so I thinking someone might want to save a few bucks over buying new....................

Think I'll buy another Honda. Uninspired designs and performance, but at least I know they are engineered properly. Wish Honda would build something to try to compete with the Brute and the KQ.

Default 2nd Reverse Failure for Same KQ 700!

Well guys here the story on how the reverse let go today with 72 miles on the clock. Keep in mind the reverse broke the first time on my KQ at only 40 miles!
I was following a guy on a Rincon with 28" Mudzillas on it through a pretty nasty hole. He was not able to make it all the way through but was able to "back" out of it after thrashing around in it for awhile.
Now, being the proud awner of a KQ, I had to try to show him the way through. This hole was not particularly deep, about to the top of the tires, but is was real thick Missouri clay. I made it farther than my buddy on the initial run but then got high centered. I put it in reverse and engaged the override, but only using a little over half throttle, while rocking side to side to use the edges of the ruts. After I backed up about three feet, I put in Difflock low and went ahead about 5-6 feet. I once again got high centered and put her in reverse this time with the Difflock on and engaged the override but once again was not at full throttle in reverse. I backed up some before the override timed out. I waited for the override to reset and used it again. After using it the second time for about 10 seconds it let loose. You will know when this happens to you as the motor winds up just like it is in nuetral. Luckily I did make it through the hole in forward, but by then I was totally enraged. The guys I was riding with just shook their heads and couldn't believe the reverse broke that easily.
I hope that helps you other guys out there that ride any kind of mud. I think it's just a matter of time before the reverse breaks if you have any kind of load on it.
One other thing I wanted to mention is when this happened I was on pretty flat ground and if anything was rear end down slightly.
We'll see how Suzuki handles the problem this time as my patience is wearing thin.
