lt250 piston help

Default lt250 piston help

any1 help me>? i just took my motor apart and the piston on the exaust side the rings melted and have streaks running down the piston>?all i did was put a 190 jet in>!any1 help me>?

Its just wear. you might of had too little oil in your mixure. Plus, 190 sounds lean. Get a new Piston and bump the main to a 240. My LT had the same thing when i got it, it was black and had scars and scratches on the exaust side. sounds like you were running too lean, mine had a 190 in it too...

You were running lean. This caused the piston to overheat and melt the rings. If you were already bored .060 over, you'll be lucky if you don't have to resleeve your jug. Also, the molten rings might have done bad things to your bottom end like this unfortunate LT.

any reason why you decided to put a 190 in it was it running bad? that seems awful lean from normal

You all must be smarter then me i was thinking melted rings ,lean. Then i read 190 was goin wow i only run 180 in my airstryker. must have a stock mikuni carb eh? looked for pics too lol

i run a 240 in mine and it seems lean once in awhile.. 190? wow i dont see how it ran...

Default lt250 piston help

i had a 280.but was told 2 run a 190 when it's cold out...?i just took it apart and i found the gasket by the the base ov the cylinder was blown on the exaust side...thinkin the air sucked in and did it>?and the circle plastic piece the goes on be4 the main jet is missing...

WHAT FRIGGIN MEATHEAD TOLD YOU TO RUN LEANER IN THE COLD? your suposed to run a bigger jet,the air is more dense at cold temps and so you have to run richer!!!!. Im pretty sure of this,someone correct me if i am wrong. Stock jetting for a quadracer 250 is a 240 main. jeeze i run a 270 and all that i have is an aftermarket pipe and stock air filter
