z 400 gas shut off

Default z 400 gas shut off

does the gas valve have a off or just pri. on and resrve and if not what do you turn to for trailing just bought atv for daughter got rid of hard stating 400ex life is good

Just leave it on the "ON" position all the time unless it has been sitting for a while, then use "PRI" but be sure to turn it back over to the ON position.

There is no OFF position since it is vacuum fed. It confused me for a while to when I got it.

On is just like an off position on another quad as long as its not running.

it is a vacuum operated petcock

when the engine is running,,,it applies vacuum(via a hose to the back of the petcock) to a diaphram that opens and lets fuel run thru

pri (prime) will allow it to run free when it is not running
