Default smoking lt230

Hey, this is all new to me, but this site is GREAT. Hoping that someone out there can help me with a problem that I have. I consider myself to be mechanically inclined, but I'm lost on this one. I have a 86 LT230 that was just rebuilt from the ground up, mostly to be stock. The motor has been completely tore down, new seals, bored 40 over, new rings, and new valve seals, blah blah blah. My problem is the motor starts fine, no smoke, let it idle for 30 seconds and BAM it smokes like a chimney. Now I have checked the rings, no problem, all the gruves are off at least 90 to 180 degrees. The valve seals are new and not broken. Now my only guess is the valve guides are worn on the exhaust valve. Can anyone point me in the right direction to go from here. I would appreciate any advise.

I think he may be right, it could be a richness problem or perhaps it may be the vent hose is blocked coming out of the top rear of the engine. if the breather is blocked/clogged it could cause a smoking condition.
On a side note, mine is just the opposite, mine puffs a lill blue smoke upon starting but only lasts a few secs. keep an eye on the smoke, is it blue or black? color can be the tell tale so to speak..

Thanks for the input, the smoke is white, it looks like I'm spraying for bugs. I tore the head off to see what was in there. The spark plug was almost completely full of burnt oil sludge. The head pipe and the exhaust port in the head was the same way. I know it is oil, but from where, my only guess is the exhaust valve. You know of any replacement guides from Suzuki. Some one mention it might be a carberator issue, which reminds me I never rejetted after i bored it out. Any suggestions on where to start. Thanks! This is why I bought a new King Quad, no carberator issues. No reverse issues either from the KQ. Thanks again

i had valve seals go bad after a week took it back to were i got it done and they fixed it ....... if it is a valve seal u should be able to look through the exhaust port and see if u can see oil coming down the valve stem if not i have had this problem from crank seal i would not think its coming from being to rich just my 2 cents
