On the one I saw, they replaced the entire lower end, bearings and all. I'm sure not all dealers do that though. There are shortcuts they can take such as just moving the pinion from the old case to the new one without resetting / checking the clearances. It would be a safe bet a lot of dealers don't have the skills to do that. This fix is very involved and requires a lot of skill and time to do properly, but it can be done.
All I can say is the King Quad is a very nice machine but if you go out and buy one of the effected models with this knowledge, you are crazy, especially since the updated version can be found out there if you look and are persistant. I don't call that dissing the machine, that is just stating common sence.
For the record, I was with you Pastor back in the beginning (check previous posts) till I saw the failure first hand and the reason for it. Over time, I think you will see the failures multiply quite a bit. Good thing it is a 5 year warranty. By the way, you have been buying a King Quad for several months now but still don't own one. Are you waiting for an updated model? If it is not an issue, why the delay?

TopGun...since you ask...I was tidying up several other situations until I could put substational cash on the machine. Make no mistake...I am buying one of these probably next week. Why? From my investigation of the problem, the reverse problem is a low percentage of actual machines purchased. I really don't use this machine in the mud, deep water, atc. not that I won't ever use it I just don't see myself ever pushing this thing very hard in reverse. i will be on the lookout however for late model machines.
