03 vinson manual clutch
This is right from the Suzuki Service Manual
-inspect the clutch every 2000 km. or 1200miles
Remove the clutch adjuster cap. It is located of the right side of the motor below the oil filler cap. It is held on by 2 Phillips headed screws.
Behind the cover there are 2 adjusting screws. They are located side by side, so I'll call them left and right.
-Loosen both locknuts.
-Rotate the adjusting screw on the right side counterclockwise until it stops.
-Tighten the locknut on the left side. Left side locknut 8N-m (0.8 kgf-m or 5.7 lb.-ft)
-Rotate the adjusting screw on the right side 1/4-1/2 turn clockwise.
-Tighten the locknut on the right side while holding the adjuster so it doesn't move. 23Nm (2.3kgf-m or 16.5 lb-ft)
-Apply grease to the O-ring and install the O-ring in the clutch adjuster cap.
-Install the clutch adjuster cap.
The first time I adjusted mine, I only moved the right adjusting screw 1/4 turn. When I tried to drive the quad, I put it in gear and it didn't move, so I redid the adjustment and moved it 1/2 turn this time and it worked perfect. The right screw seemed to be fairly heavy to move and it clicked as you turned it, sounding similar to a ratchet clicking. It is not a very difficult procedure to adjust.
