Ahh, thanks for info. I tend to downshift to let the engine slow me down the hills already, so it shouldn't be hard to remember.

Anyone here have first hand experience with the stage III exhaust replacements that can let me know if it really adds 3-4hp (and if that is significant in low end torque)

i have the dg xcellerator stage 3, its a great pipe and i noteced a huge gain. i think probally around 3 hp would be right but the only bad thing is that the chrome headpipe gets discolored very quickly. also, dont bother with the spark arrested version, its just as loud as the race core but with less performance and a bigger price

 

Respectfully, if you aren't racing, get a spark arrester. If you ever want to take the quad on public property one may be required. Some manufacturers make a removeable sparky, so you can have both. A spark arrester isn't going to cause a huge loss of power, I think it is better to be responsible.
