how much wattage can the stock charging unit handle??? want to add some extra light for night rides gettin too hot out here in the desert during the day. what is max extra light what can be added to stock system.

I have the same problem. need more light for night riding. I was told for me to install extra lights I need to change the stator to handle the extra load
as for the wattage you need I would call around at places that sell the lights you want and ask them about it

 

I just put one pic on my page for you guys to see. If I remember correctly they are each 35 watts and are turned on seperate from the stock lights. I designed the bracket which is titanium and allows the lights to turn with the bars. The whole set up weighs almost nothing and works awesome. I've been running them for two years on the stock stator and have never had a problem with lights dimming or a low battery. Pic may take a little while for the mods to approve it.
