Vinson 5 speed
#1
Any of you have regrets getting a 5 speed manual instead of an auto Vinson?
$500 cheaper where I live....that will almost pay for four 26" mudlites and a rear seat.
I hear in the long run, say if you plan on keeping the bike for a long time, the 5 speed will be more trouble free.

I really like my Vinson 5 speed. The only downside is when climbing the really steep hills. I hate downshifting for fear of flipping it backwards.
I really like the low range option for tight technical trails.

......watch out for the 1st gear when going over logs....in the wrong hands that 1st gear can launch the front end upwards, and maybe flip backwards like a rocket... can be very dangerous. I always thought the vinson 5 speed had a front end thats too light...steep hills can have the same effect.....

...Suzuki Motorcycle company does not make a quad that is 'spose to last more than 5 years.....as per the (Joke) 42 month ext warranty on the 05 kq (little "k" for the suzuki worshipers)...reverse failures..if they intended to last longer...a Good MfG would recall them all...and do the right thing.....poor sucker that gets one and it fails after the 42 month warranty...

Stuck said it right there. On an auto you can put ur knees on the back rack in the mud. Other than having to downshift on hills, those are the only two downfalls. The pluses that it has (and is the reason I got it). No belt to slip, deep water and belts are a no-no, although they're damn near bulletproof now. No reliance on automatic engine braking going down hills. Plus I just like the control and feel of a manual. Also, automatics in cars rob more power than manuals, but the work on hydraulics and not a belt/sheave combo so it may or may not apply here.
