King Me!!!

Even at the stiffest setting all the way around, I wish there was at least one click stiffer. Especially for serious hauling and towing. The ride is much more stable and still plenty plush at max settings. I'm sure the soft sidewall tires have something to do with it. Once I go aftermarket, maybe I'll have to ease back a click on the suspension.

I have had the king for about 3 weeks now and 300 miles. It rides like a dream, 100 mile trips and absolutely no back ache. I have had it into a lot of mud and water and am running into overheating problems. I need to clean the radiator a lot better after rides. it looks great from the front but to check it you need to put a light behind it and you would be suprised how plugged up it is.
The suspension is pretty soft on it, I have my rear shocks set up to the max and my fronts are one setting away from max. this helped a lot for the corners at high speed.
The fastest i have had it so far is 64mph, that is pretty cool. there is a little hesitation when you first punch it but it goes pretty good.
the reverse override is probably the worst thing so far and the time they limit you to run in reverse. also I have had the bike in water over the rear rack already and i deffinately need to put a snorkel kit on it. and my dealer says a outboard motor may work as well.
the rear cooling duct for the belt drive is real low so it needs to be piped up higher. even if you don't go in much water.
other than that it is a great bike and as with every other suzuki I have owned it will probably never leave me stranded or without a bike for a ride..
Hope this helps

Yes I already had to drain my belt. I too had it up to the racks and took on lots of water. A snorkel is a must I'm afraid. Never had to do this on the Vinson.
The fan does seem to kick in quite a bit, I guess I'll check the radiator over a little better. Another thing I'm not to fond of is the handle brake. I still like the park in the Vinson.
I also don't like removing plastic to check my oil. And since I'm on a roll what's up with the small racks?
Yes it is hard to beat the extra power and that alone makes it worth the buy.

the reason you did not get much water into the vinson belt drive is because if you look at the vent in the rear it has a metal baffle in it that closes when you back up or stop forward movement.
I am pretty sure this might have been included on the king but overlooked... Hmmm guess we will never know, I am pretty sure future models will be like the vinson with the baffle.
I also just checked out the new big wheel kits out, for these what do you think of the 14" rim size.
I think it is a lot of money for looks, If the 14" added 2" of ground clearance over the 12" rims it would be worth it. I do not want the low profile tire look>>> this is a 4X4 we want GROUND CLEARANCE.......
Just thought I would add that in case anyone wants to spend 850.00 on new rims and rubber..
They look cool but I do not think the deer care and if the women like it they will already be on the bike anyway!!! Not to many running around in the swamps these days.
Bye for now!!!

I am looking at buying a KQ in next couple days but still do not know if I should buy the vinson. How far can you go on a tank of gas in the KQ and will it tip over easier on the side hills than the vinson.

my first ride with it was 86 miles and my gauge was flashing but I still had about a half a gallon of gas left. after break in and if you do not keep the throttle floored I would think you could get 100miles to a tank easy. The hard part is staying out of that throttle.. I think the bike is very stable, I have had it at all angles so far and it never felt tippy..
good luck : hope this helps

Hey Quadnut,
Back to your question about the 14" wheel kits. I just picked up my yellow King this past weekend with the 27" Mudlite XTR's on the 14" wheels. First off, these baby's look some kind of sweet. The dealer had my King sitting out front and 3 people came along before I got there and tried to buy it out from under me. Also had a guy at the gas station ask me if it was for show or recreation. Secondly, and most importantly, they handle and hook up awesome. The king actually handles better with these than with the stocks, more stable since the tire is a radial. My dealer really hooked me up, he charged me what he was able to get them for, $700 not $850 like every where else. Hope this kinda helps. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.
