This is the shaft drive model right? If so the reverse is on the dash board. There is a pull lever there stock. If this is missing the reverse is probably on the shifter side of the motor behind where the foot shift is.

I have the same bike, but I can't get mine to accelorate. All it will do is idle. I have changed the spark plug, checked the fuel separator (it pumps fuel when I turn it over, but not a gusher), I unscrewed the throttle cable on the carb and it looked clean. I bought it like this thinking it would be an easy fix. The guy who I bought it off of let it run out of gas. When he filled it back up, it was doing this? So he said. I need some help.

When you had the throttle cable open on top of the carb did you check for motion when pressing the throttle? If cable appears to be working correctly, you may have dirt in the carb. You get no acceleration when pressing the throttle? Check the cable.

Does the bike have a proper fuel filter? Does the motor stumble and die when you give it throttle? My guess would be a dirty carb. You'll have to pull the float bowl off and check for varnish buildup and blow the jets out with compressed air. While in there you should check the needle for wear. Some concentrated carb cleaner may band aid the problem, but the float bowl should probably be pulled. For intake cleaner/carbon remover I prefer Seafoam.

Thanks for the info. When I rev the motor after starting and letting it warm, it acts like it wants to rev, but it is like you shut the fuel off. When it does this, I can keep it idling by choking it. And it does not have a fuel filter, but it has what is called a fuel separator.

If it's like my LT230S, it has 2 strainer attached to the fuel petcock inside the gas tank. When these get run out of gas, all the sediment in the tank gets trapped in the strainers and it runs like you describe. On the 230S it's just 2 screws to get the petcock off, then clean the strainers and put it back on.
