Default LT80 starts but won't go

I just took off a Klein carb kit and put the stock carb and pipe back on. And I cleaned the carb and jets out good first. The quad fired right up and on the workstand, ran full throttle fine. Put the wheels on for a test ride and as soon as I give it gas, it dies. The engine will idle but won't go when you give it the gas.
And I checked all the usual gotchas like, plugged air filter hose, vaccum hoses left off, gas on etc. Any ideas?
BTW, I hooked up the auto oiler hose, although the oiler doesn't work. I just run premix in it, and it's a good mixture.

Welcome to the forums.
Did you do any clutch mods to run the other carb and pipe?
We'll go from there.

no clutch mods, just the carb kit and pipe. Everything ran fine. I suspect maybe when I was cleaning the carb, I lodged some crud loose and it plugged the main jet. I'll open it back up when I get home and check it out.

Ok. I agree, get back into the carb and double check things.
Remove that black rubber piece, you don't need it. I've seen that get crushed and close up a jet quite a few times.

Cleaned out the carb real good, and took out the black boot. Also pulled the reed block and the reeds are fine. Put everything back together and tested.
1. Fires right up, idles fine.
2. Runs great up to 1/2 throttle (approx), then dies. If I back off on the throttle, it continues to run.
3. Did a test ride up the driveway, runs fine with me on it until the 1/2 throttle point.

I'm stumped at this point. Any suggestions?

A compression test would be nice to eliminate that aspect.
Providing that is good, I'd move on to pulling the flywheel off and sanding the crud off the flywheel and stator.
Stock carbs can go bad.Lil passages and all.

your main jet is to rich... it was jetted for the Kehin carb and the aftermarket exhaust. you need to get stock size jets, i dont know what size they are.

No, I don't think that's it. I didn't change out the jets. The stock carb still has the stock jets it always had. But I'll do a compression test and let you know what I get. I think 80 lbs. is good?
