Eiger Suspension
#1
Just purchased a 2005 Eiger 400 for my wife. She really likes it except she says it "rides a little rougher" than her old Polaris (1991 350L 4x4, solid rear axle machine with one adjustable shock). I noticed that the rear shocks (2) are not adjustable on the Eiger and was wondering if putting on adjustable shocks would help, if adjustable shocks are even available for it. If anyone has had any experience with this or has any other suggestions, I would really appreciate the input.

i'd usually have them way up..around 10 psi...all of them seemed to have slow leaks..(two plys)...so when they'd get down around 3-4 psi it was a real smooth ride...now i have Mud Lites and they are 6ply and are a lot stiffer

The suspension will soften up a bit after it breaks in, and run 3.5 to 4 psi in the rears 4.5 in the fronts. Never run over six psi it will cause ill handling and a stiff ride. The cheapest fix might bee to add some foam and recover the seat.

Very interesting question. I've asked this MANY times, and no one gave me an answer, so I did some research myself. I looked at the factory drawings from Suzuki (at a website selling factory parts) and the call-out for the top and bottom mounting bolts are exactly the same. SO, the eyes are the same size, but I'm not sure on the total length. I know that the Eiger's rears are longer than the fronts, and I also know that the Vinson is EXTREMELY similar suspension wise to the Eiger front and rear, except for the shocks. I've been looking for a used set of Vinny shocks for almost a year now, with no luck. I hope you have no luck either and I beat you to them!!
No, really... I've got dibbs!
