Thinking about jetting a 05 Suzuki 400 Eiger manual. I want a little more pull starting out. I'm not much into working on things, so is it going to be worth me paying somebody to jet my quad for me. All you guys who have jetted your quads, let me know if its made a big difference in the power.

 

You'll definitely notice the difference. As easy as it is and as little time as it takes, I wouldn't waste the money paying somebody. Save even more money by just buying a couple jets from the dealer instead of a whole kit (if I remember right they were about 3 or 4 dollars a piece instead of 50 for a kit).

 

Agree with LL. You don't even have to remove the carb to change the main jet. Just unhook the throttle cable from the carb, loosen the clambs on both ends, rotate clockwise to get at the bowl screws. Use a new phillips bit as these screws are installed pretty tight from the factory. Be mindful of the choke cable when rotating the carb. Yup-easy. The adv. of a kit, though, is the instructions, spring, and needle jet, that are included. Also keep in mind that your air/fuel adj. might need tweeked. It's the screw right in front of the main jet on the Vinsons. Mine had to be seated, then backed out 3 turns. Besides the power, I haven't had to use the choke since I re-jetted.

 

Thanks guys, think I'll go ahead and give it a shot. With it jetted and a K&N air filter I don't see much stopping it especially when I get some MudLites, it already went pretty good with those crappy stock tires.
