King Quad 700 Problem
#11
This was happening to alot of guys on the highlifter site and I remember reading they were covered when they had them fixed. Steve Stiller is a guy that owns a dealership, he posts on there alot and he was saying it is a known problem and would be covered under warranty. You got hosed for sure.

I have a power commander, Twin air filter kit , airbox mod, Powermadd guards, and waiting on the HMF exhaust.
Only thing left I want to get is a winch............Anyone got any suggestions on which one is the best. Is there a certain one made for the KQ? or does it matter?
I'm gonna call another dealer ............. or two and ask them about the boot.
Thanks,
Rick

I like the PC, I have one on my Suzuki TL1000R sport bike too. It increased the acceleration, top speed remains the same as it hits the speed limiter at 72mph. Although I've heard several ppl say it's hitting the rev limiter, it feels like it's a computer controlled speed limiter to me.
I've been trying to figure out wether the bottom end lag is a result of the clutch or a timming retard. Has the clutch kit fixed the problem for ppl who put it on??? If not then they may be limiting the torque by retarding the timing for a few seconds. This is done on most 1,000cc sport bikes to keep the front end from comming up too much. There is a simple fix that is just a resistor placed in line with a sensor that's called a TRE (Timing Retard Eliminator) I have "Ivan's TRE" on my TLR and it works great, she'll come straight up, even if your sitting on the handlebars. On some models like the Hayuabusa 1300R, the TRE also removes the speed limiter allowing this bike to hit around 200mph.
Those 14inch ITP rims sure look nice but you can only get 27inch tires for em; You'll be giving up alot of torque and acceleration going to tires that big. They may increase the top speed though, that is if it's a rev limiter that's controlling it now.
