King Quad 700 Problem
#1
I have KQ 700 I bought 2 weeks ago. A problem started this weekend where at certain times it acts like it's in reverse where the engine gets no power. It does this when I engage the diff lock or when going up steep hills, or turning a 360 in 2wd high. When I push the override button it stops.
Anyone ever seen this before? If so what was the fix. I'm taking it to the dealership this week for the first service.

When in 4wd high gear and lock the diff- Suzuki limits the speed that the machine will do to something like 10 MPH. If you need more speed you can get it in Low with the Diff lock. I think it will get the wheel speed to 25 MPH. Do not know why it would act strange in High 2wd never heard or seen anything about that.

sorry didnt read carefully, suzuki does that to prevent damage when in diff lock, other wise could break front end at high speeds.

Ok found out what was causing the 2wd cut out problem............ just low on gas.........duh. The gauge shows 2 bars, but it's still not enough gas to flow smoothly when going up steep hills and cutting tight turns. This was the first time I noticed this so I wasn't sure what was going on.
As far as Diff lock goes, the manual says it's limited to around 22mph in diff lock but i'm only getting about 8-10 mph. That's without the override button pushed. I've used diff lock a few times already when pulling a boat out of a pond and going up some steep hills and it seemed like I had full power available. I was giving like half throttle and spinning the tires to pull the boat out with no engine cut out, But now it seems I only give it about 10% throttle and it cuts out even right off the line.

Your exactly right Marshall that's what it was!! When I pulled the boat out of the pond and the other times I was in 4 Low Diff lock not Hi. I went out and tested it and now it goes to about 22mph in Low diffl lock..........Thanks.
Here's another one for some of you guys. I just picked it up from the dealer getting the first service done. They only did the Valve check as I did the rest myself. While I was inspecting it I found that one of my axle boots on the rear was twisted around the shaft, if left it would soon tear. So I had the dealer do the repair. I was charged for a half hour labor and told that it was not under warranty!! They said things like tires, brake pads, and axle boots are not under warranty. Does this sound right to you guys???
Thanks for the replies.

unfortunately, I think they are right. I do not agree with it but that is pretty typical with warrantys. If you Quad is really new, like you just picked it up type of new... you might be able to contact Suzuki customer service, heck you might want to do that anyway, and see if you can elevate this and get them to pay for it.... Worth a shot.
