use the did 3/4 row cam chain put a chain adjuster extension on it(all this does is buy some time) and you should get at least a full year out of it however its gonna make some noise no way around it unless u like your stock cams lol. alot of people use the 4/5 row did cam chain myself included but it likes to lean over and touch things from time to time and makes noise that way sometimes. also what springs did you put in your z with the hotcams

How hard is it to install cams? Just wondering if I should take this up on my own?

ok stock springs plus big cams = big problems you realy need those aftermarket springs otherwise one day you will rev it up and pt a vave into the piston if your lucky you will only need new valves and piston if your not you will have to put a new crank head barrell and piston mabe even cams to ive seen them snap. and you do not need an extension with the manual chain tensioner but ive had better luck with the stock type plus extension when you here noise time to replace chain with the manual chain tensioner its way to easy to overtighten the chain. um just wondering when you put in the hotcams did you check the valve lash? that can cause noise as well

Its not hard but you will need a shim kit which is around 80 bucks and i recomend degreeing the cams in with a degree wheel around 120 bucks. and for gods sake please put new aftermarket springs in it iether use web cams spring kit or get a set of purple color code suzuki springs. ps the purple spring are ok for the hotcams but they will float a little with the big web cams and its a good idea to put in the did silent cam chain while you are already in there
