Does your valve train make noise at idle or at all for that matter. I have the hotcams and they produce a ticking noise from the valve train at idle, the noise is espcially loud when my machine is hot and i am using 40w oil.
The reason i am asking is becuase i might switch over to the web cams , i heard they produce more power.

I had my cam chain replaced back in october and i also had the cam adjuster replaced as well. This is so loud that you can hear just walking up to it. I had my mechanic take a look at it and he said that there was one link on my can chain that was stretched a little and was hitting the guiders but was no harm. ITs So loud!!!

Well I dunno about aftermarket, but I noticed my 2005 has a different sound than the 2004 in the head. My cams make a "whir-whir-whirring" sound while the 2004 had more of a soft "tick-tick-ticking" sound. Perhpaps the diffferent cams for '05 are the difference there.

A valve tick is not always a bad thing depending on how loud.

hey ss97 I know exactly what your talking about because my 04 and my friends 05 both do the same things as you state. His is alittle more of a whine and mines a really soft tick.....

I dont know i have my mechanic do all my internal motor work. Does your engine make any ticking from the hotcams. I was up at silver lakes last weekend and was tearing it up!!!!!! I had the fastest quad their untill a guy with a trx-508cc came and beat me but my tire was at his nerf bar. I am always trying to head up that way.
