lt250r top end

What is the top end of an 85 and 88 lt250r. IS there a big difference between motors and will an 88 motor fit in an 85 chassis

a 88 motor will fit with some minor fabrication. The top speed is much greater on the 87+ Because of the extra gear. The first generation LT's topped out just shy of 70mph.
