z-250 top speed

Default z-250 top speed

Well, I have said it many times before but to all those who say it wont do over 50 it will. I weigh 175, have a stock '05 z-250 + full skids (NO MODS, NO JETTING) and I consistantly get 53-55mph on flat roads. I have tested it with several GPS recievers, a highway radar sign, and even had a real CHP neighbor of mine clock me at 54.

It may have to do with the breakin, it may have to do with how well the guys at the dealership put it together. I rode mine hard when I broke it in, and my dealer has one of the top service centers in the country. I am also located at nearly 5k elevation.

Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. If you only get 47 on yours with a 105lb person riding it, that really sucks, but it doesn't mean that is all the quad is capable of. When I finally decide on a good pipe, and rejet I hope to get more low end torque because I feel that for my style of riding the z-250 already goes fast enough.
