Paved road in the country: 69mph according to my speedodometer, then I let go. I just wanted shut my neighbor up (650 kawasaki v-twin)! It worked... Hill climbs, switch backs, you name it and the king is fast enough.

you are so right the Kingquad is by far the best quad in 2005. But watch out, the Outlander is coming out

When someone asks you what a specific machines top speed is, especially so with a sport-utility that has an on-board speedometer, the answer that most people are looking for is the highest speed reached on the speedometer. Like it or not, right or wrong, that's just how it is. Who says your GPS is 100% correct? Who says a car's speedometer that is running alongside of the ATV at the same time is 100% correct? To say that the speedometer is kind of optimistic is not something domestic to the KingQuad only either by the way.

All of you King Quad guys, forgive me if I am wrong but can't your quads at least hang with a stock Raptor 660, Im not saying beat, just staying not to far behind them in a race.

A Raptor will definitely have any King off the line and I doubt the KingQuad accelerates better than the Raptor. With that said, the KingQuad should already be quite a ways behind in our virtual drag race and then once the King hits the speed limiter, which kicks in at 72mph ON THE SPEEDOMETER (this seems to be a hot debate, so I must throw this disclaimer in for my own safety), the Raptor will walk even further away. It depends on your definition of "hang with." I say no.
