Got both. And each has its strong points. It does amaze me that it took indy car technology, and double the engine size for a thumper to even compete with a 2 stroke. If only some one sold a 2 stroke 300 with a e-start.

I like em both, but my preferences for a quad and bike are different....

quads- "mainly" 4-strokes
dirtbikes- "mainly" 2-strokes

My quad and both bikes (street and dirt) are four strokes. Try hauling an elk out with a two stroke and you'll know why. It's like a truck, it's torque that matters, not horsepower. I've hauled a nice 4x4 buck and a hunting partner up a mountain trail on my tt350. We had to be over 500 lbs, and that bike didn't even hiccup. Like to see a two stroke do that.

There is also the sound issue. Two strokes have that annoying raspy sound, kinda like a mother in law shouting in your ear. No thanks.

Yep, for hauling elk a 4-stroke is better, for hauling *** a 2-stroke is better. Heck, if you think 2-strokes sound raspy, try any 4-stroke with a pipe. Imo, mixing gas is easy, 4oz of oil to 4 gal of gas, shake it up and pour into gas tank.

What kind of oil do you use? Wouldn't 4 oz to 4 gal be a 128:1 ratio... I do more like 40:1 for my 250R's.

Yep, mixing it is easy. That is until you mess it up and your engine siezes 10 miles from your truck because you only put 1oz per gallon in.

I use the new ultra super synthetic golden spectro at 128:1 but thinking of going to 256:1............................................. .......................LOL, thats what I get for posting at 3:26 am.................... I run golden spectro at 42:1, and sometimes amsoil interceptor at 50:1. Anyone use silkoline, and is it any good?
