Hey i own a 86 LT 230s n its blowin white smoke badly n my neighbor, the guy i bought it from, n also knows this bike like the back of his hand, said its sumthin like the valve seals but in order to fix it i needed a new head so ive got one ordered off of ebay for like $95. This cud be wuts wrong with ures but i'll write back after i put it in which will be in about 4 days, and tell u if it worked

I wouldn't just assume it needs new top end. Take it apart and check it out. It very likely could be just valve seals. That'd be my first guess. I'm sure you can get them pretty cheap. Then if you want to put new piston and rings in while you got it open and they're cheap enough then do it.
