tire size vinson 2003
I want to change the stock tire of my vinson 2003 auto and i need your help.
1) I want a good overall tire for 10%mud 90%trail (summer and winter)
2) I want a tire with softer ride (for me and my passenger)
3) Do i need to change the clutch of my vtt if a change for 26 inch
4) Is it possible to fit 26x10x12 front and 26x12x12 rear on stock rim without risk for the vtt (cv and transmission)
i think about itp mud lite.....is it a good choice?
I am from quebec city, where is the cheapest place to buy online????

I have 26" mudlites on stock rims
10" front and 12" back
They fit well and do not rub or anything like that
I love them, they go up and over anything, esp in rough terrain with big rocks or logs. They are pretty decent in the mud also good traction and a lot more clearance----I would say at least an 1" to 2" more clearance than stock. They are great on the trail and for hills....they "grab" extremely well in situations where the stocks would just spin. The only thing is that when you are on a trail with a long run of lots of aprox 3" round rocks , the ride is wobbly.....I have only encountered that once or twice
I have had these tires since I bought the bike so I cant compare to the stocks as far as power loss, handling, comfort etc. I seem to have enough power in any situation, however when in deep bush with extremely rough terrain, I find that low gear just "feels" better...1st gear in high will do the job but low just feels better. dunno if its the tires or not
All this said, I am just in the last bit of breaking my bike in so I still havnt given it more than half throttle with these tires. Even with half or less throttle, the bike has loads of power for these tires.
I dont know what kind of strain they put on the bike. If you are the type that has it "to the metal" most of the time, then they might be a strain, otherwise they should be fine.

I put 25" ITP Holeshot ATRs on stock rims on one of my Vinsons. They are supposedly the lightest 6 ply you can buy and were about 7lbs/tire heavier than stock Dunlops.
You will notice a smoother ride immediately; I did. I also noticed some loss of bottom end power because of the added weight. I put the Dalton secondary spring in and did notice a little more pep on the bottom part of mid-range, but didn't notice too much right off the bottom. It would accelerate from about 7 mph to 16 mph really fast. You'll lose a little top-end with Dalton's stiffer secondary spring.
I did not put the Dalton rollers in though. Dalton's clutch kit for the Vinson is the secondary spring and the rollers. I bought the secondary spring separate. So I don't know if the rollers would have made a big difference.
You'll love the ride of the ATR radials. The compromise is some loss of bottom end.
