i have heard that to, but ive also heard they make alot of other company's cdi's. (big gun). ive also heard about the vortex and dyno having probs. when it's a computer part there's a good chance something can go wrong(a will). i don't think electronics are made for the mud, sand and dust.!! i always carry my stock one with me, you never know, when i got my new one ,i took the old one off and it was full of sand( i said damn!!!). better safe than stranded.

a friend found it and bought it for me. it has 9 setting,1-3 are diffrent curves ,4-6 diffrent curves plus +1000rpm's,7-9 curves plus+2000 rpm's. i keep mine at 4-6, most of the time 6. 4 reminded me of a 400ex, it holeshoted real good(traction). 6 let me spin the wheels like crazy off the start, so thats what i normally keep it on. i really just wanted one for the extra rpm's because i was useing u-4 race gas so my 400 was winding out fast and i needed a couple extra rpm's. my friend has a dyna on his rapt.. and he paid $ 400 and said it didn't do nothing, my other fri... has a ds and said the same about his $400 vortex, my buddy with a 700 prairie with a dyna.. has crazy power down low. so i'd ask around before spending $400 . i'm happy with mine but i also got a good deal(thanks buddy).

Dyna came out with a cheaper non-adjustable version. Its around $250.

Is it worth getting one with your mods?
I dont think it is. Cams would give you a lot more power for the money. But after you get the cams you will want a CDI for a higher rev limiter.

like i said, i was just needing some extra rpm's at the time and was going to just by a high rpm cdi.then my buddy found this one for $65(protoype for 05'). i think now their like $100. if your looking for a higher rpm, plus diffrent curve( i could tell a diffrance). it's not bad , at least i didn't pay 400 and feel i got ripped off. not saying dyna and vortex bad ,just know people that aren't happy with theirs.

for the cams , i'm trying to stay out of the motor for a while.cams are on the list.

yeah with you stock motor your not going to see much of a differance.plus with the stock valve springs and a 2k cdi your going to float a valve
