hard shifting gears
#1
anyone have problems shifting gears with their z250? mine seems to get stuck or very difficult to shift to 2nd gear. all of the other gears seem fine. from 1st to 2nd gear is not a smooth shift. can i fix this or will it fix itself over time?

Depends on the cause. I'm assuming it's a semi-automatic transmission. Even if it's not, have you adjusted the clutches recently, or ever? What have you been using for oil? It's possible that the clutches are just out of adjustment, you haven't changed your oil in a long time and it's sludging up in the clutches, or you've used automotive engine oil, or possibly the wrong weight of oil.
Try changing the oil w/ some good motorcycle oil and adjust your clutches.
This is only the best case scenarios, you could have something mechanically wrong w/ the transmission, but try these things first and see if it helps.
Sorry didn't read your other post and realize this is a new bike. The shifting is tight on a new machine. Just make sure you stick to the maintenance schedule w/ oil changes and such. The clutches are oil bathed so they respond to the quality/type of oil in the bike. The shifting will loosen up, just give it time. It took 500miles and four oil changes before my shifting started to loosen up. On a new bike, it's not only the engine that has to break-in. Also, make sure your not on the throttle when you shift, not for the first 100 miles or so
