DG used to make them. I don't think anybody does anymore but try HERE

Actually I just thumbed thru the new Tucker Rocky catalog & they still list them. So, any dealer who deals with TR should be able to get them for you. Part #59-0120. They only list them for 85-86 but I'd have to believe they could be used on later models too.

Keep an eye on eBay. I bought a set of brand new DG aluminum nerfs for my 230 sport a few years ago. (still have them in the box, but I'll probably use them eventually.) It seems like they weren't too uncommon at that time either... I had a few sets to choose from when I bid. Not sure now how hard they are to find. I haven't been searching for any.

I think they would work. The lower frames are exactly the same width and diameter. The only thing is, the footpegs from a 230E and a 230S are actually pretty different. They bolt up totally different and are not interchangeable. However, the relative location of the actual pegs is pretty similar, it's just how they mount to the frame that's different. The footpegs on the E appear to stick out a little further to clear the slightly wider engine, but that's just from me eyeballing them. I've never actually measured. Also, on my '88 E, it has built on heel guards on the footpegs. I don't think your '87 E should have those though so that shouldn't be a problem.

My nerfbars are at my parents house, and so is my brothers '87 E. I'll probably go there in a few weeks. I'll try and make a point to take the nerfs out and hold them up to his E to see if they'd work. I will say that if they don't bolt directly on, it would be a very minor mod to get them to work.

yagerzzz your knowledge of these quads is right on.my 87 lt230e does not have heel guards.nerf bars would be nice for woods riding because the shifter seems to be vulnerable in these conditions.let me know if you think it can work and many thanks again.
