Default Do you have to oil a K&n even with a Outerweres cover.

I am wondering this because i dont oil mine everytime?? and i use a outer weres filter as well.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The actual fiber portion of the filter provides only part of the filtering, it's the sticky oil that does much of the dirt grabbing.

DO NOT run your machine without first prepping your K&N with a good quality, name brand filter oil (standard motor oil is NOT a suitable alternative).

Read this excellent post first. Running your filter w/o proper oil is about as effective as running w/o a filter at all. Please heed PilotNut's warning above.
