Default 1987 LT230E

I have owned my 87 LT230E for quite a long time now. My biggest headache has been the chain roller. I keep on chewing them up. I probably go through one per year. But yesterday the whole roller broke off. The welds failed. I have been looking at some of the schmatics for the sport model and it doesn't even look like they come with one. So, I guess my question is, can I leave the chain roller off, or do I need to get a new one and fabricate a new bracket for it. Any advice would be appreciated.

Think you must be running you chain too tight for that too happen. The LT230 S/E needs a bit more slack due the the extreme angle of the swingarm. Also make sure the bushing/bearing the roller rides on is well lubricated.
