LT230S questions
I have an '85 LT230S that has a slipping clutch. I havn't taken it apart yet, but how can tell if I need new friction disks, new steels, or both?
I've looked online at M.R. Cycles, and they show two different part numbers for the drive plates, and 2 different numbers for the driven plates. How do I know which part number is the correct one I need for each piece?
Also, it has this issue where when you first start it, the lights (head and tail) will come on and then when you rev it up, they will turn off and not come back on. I've checked and cleaned the switches but nothing changed. I've tested all the wires with a mulitmeter and can't seem to get any voltage anywhere while it's running. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

LT230S questions
Hey Adrian,
The LT230S had 2 different clutch set ups depending on engine #..all engines up to #104360 had one and #104361 and up used another. Being an '85 I would believe you have the first but double check the #'s on the engine just in case. Most times the steel plates are ok, but for the added insurance it's well worth the investment.
As for the lights, maybe the regulator or lighting coil?

LT230S questions
i got a question about hooking a tail light up to the back and driving lights up on the front..i hooked up a regular tailight and it worked until i revved it up and the bulb blew out cuz it sent too much power to it...i got a set of fog/driving lights that i wanna put on the front but i'm afraid it will do the same thing..anyone know if there is any way to accomplish this? i was thinking some kind of resistor or something to limit the power but i'm not sure..any help would be appreciated! thanks
