Hey I'm new to this website. I looked around and I have to say this is the best atv website ever. Anyway.....I have a problem with my 88 lt250r. I had a new top end put on it(last bore). Since then the quad is vibrating a LOT. So much that my hands get numb after a while. Does anybody know How to fix this..??? I checked the couterbalencer and the two dots are lined up. Anyway thanks for the help in advance.

Look at your motor mounts they probably dont have rubber cusions to eliminate viberations. My polaris has them, if it did'nt I would'nt be able to sit on the machine.LOL.
Go to your dealer and see if its possible to get the rubber mounts for your machine. It should only cost you a couple of bucks.
Look at the pipe for rubber mounts too.

lt250r weren't desinged that well it's all meteal to metal mounts. Anyway I ordered a piston bearing and I plan to put it in next week to see if it makes a difference.

Did you pull the clutch side cover off and mess with the counterbalancer gears? If you did the dots lining up don't mean anything. There is a dot in the splines on the crankshaft, you line this dot up with the gear, and with the dot on the counterbalancer gear. (Just in case you didn't know this already). Hmmm..did you put the thrust washers back on? I really don't know how much vibration that would cause, I don't run with them in on my LT, and it doesn't vibrate bad. For what reason did you put this last piston in for? Could be the reason you are now having this problem now. Let me know. I like helping people with the LT's. Later

What do you mean by a dot in the SPINDLE ON THE CRANKSHAFT ??? Yes I did take the gears off an put them back(to inspect the seal) Are you saying that there is more than one way to put the gear back on the crankshaft??? Thanks for your help.

OK, we just solved your problem here. Take the clutch side cover back off as well as the clutch and everything else to get to the counterbalancer gears. Now take off the gear on the crank side, and look between the splines on the shaft, you may have to rotate it around, but you should see a little dot imprinted into the shaft. This is where the dot on the gear (which you just took off) lines up with. There is a possible six ways to put the gear on, but only one right way. Then once you do this, line the dot up with the gear on the counterbalancer. This will fix you up. Later

Fireblade74 has the solution for your problem. I once had my Quadracer at a Suzuki dealer getting fixed(I do all my own work now)and they didn't line up the markers and I couldn't hang on. You would think they know what they are doing...
