I owned a 2003 Rincon and after a year or so of watching my buddies do everything easier than I could with their big bore ATVs that were equipped with FACTORY front lockers, adjustable shocks, excellant downhill engine braking, low range, and disk brakes,I decided that I was BORED to death with the Rincon..I went out and bought the new KQ..Now except for the low end lag from 0-9mph,that KQ is a fine ATV..
HOWEVER, about 2 months ago, I extensively rode tested a new 800 Bomb, and this thing is the wickest stock 4x4 ever know to mankind. Its smoother than the KQ,ALOT faster thru the ENTIRE power band, has more ground clearance, and its just that much more fun to ride than the KQ..
Its a no brainer for me,----------Bomb 800 all the way.

NEVER go by what the magazines say. Machine of the year doesn't mean squat.
Your best source of information is to find forums such as this one to see what the real world customer thinks of his/her machine. By the time the magazines decide which machine is the "Machine of the Year", they don't have enough time on it to know how the machine will work in the long term. Especially on first year models.
If you ever watch ATV TV, and have the patience to listen to Doug Meyer, you'll notice that he will praise the machine from manufacturers who pay the most in advertising. Arctic Cat, Polaris, and BRP aren't any of his favorites. But when you look at the ads on his program, you'll see plenty of ads for Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Honda.

I just got back from the local dealership to see what all the hubbab is about (outlander 800)...not much! This machine does have a incredible motor...thats it. I did not like the unprotected hardware between the 2 front tires . It is VERY reminiscent of the brute force where owners complained of brush and debris accumilating in this area. When I say NO PROTECTION...I mean just that. There are some details that are nice about this machine ...no doubt. The strongest part of this bike is the motor. The best on the market. the weak link is the ...looks. I gotta agree with another thread that complained about the looks. Pound for Pound...it's still the K.Q....anyway you slice it. lots of guys on the bombardier site are from california. i wondered about this until it dawned on me the majority of these guys appear to ride the dunes...only. It takes a lot of machine to survive here in the northwest...the K.Q. has conquered the N.W.

I just went over this machine with a fine tooth comb. I totally disagree with you. It may get ATV of the year. ...and that for innovative motor. That would be for the motor above all else. the motor is the best out there. however...IF you are looking for a utility that can cut the mustard in the back woods...my opinion is to pass this by. Why?...go look for your self. I was shocked when i saw NO protection to the front end hardware INCLUDING the disc brake assembly. That will be the first to go in some of the stuff I go through. I am just thinking about all the guys that like to get off of the logging roads and into thre real stuff? Forget it. Unless you want a stump to tear out your brake assmbly. If you haven't seen this for yourself...GO.

Pastor have you rode one yet? I drove one last week and it is AMAZING! One of the guys we ride with has a KQ and he thought the same thing. The motor has UNREAL power and the suspension works GREAT. If you go over to High Lifter and read the reviews by LA MigraTx you will see how great this macine is. As far as the front end protection La MigraTx and some other guys at High Lifter have had them through all kinds of stuff and none have had any problems. You need to spend a day on one and you will see how GREAT of a machine they are. The only thing i dont like about it is the way it looks compared to some other machines.
