Ok I have a what I believe to be an 89 LT250R as when I bought it they told me they thought that was what it was. It has the blue engine. The 6 bolt reed cage thing which I read in another thread is only on 88-92 that the 87 had a 5 bolt one. It also has the 6speed transmission so I know it's 88-92 how can I tell to make sure it's an 89?

Someone said something about the 91-92 had a differnt rear shock or something here is a picture of mine does it look like a 89?

What you have there is an 88-90,as long as it does have the 6 bolt reed cage.check all the serial numbers if you can find them,and call your deal they should be able to tell youthe exact year from the serial number,but 88-90 lt250r's are the same

 

Ok cool thanks. Yes it has a 6 bolt reed cage. I'm thinking it probably is a 89 then as thats what he said he thought it was and if it is in that year range. I may try to check the vin's. Anyone know how to read them or do I need to call my dealer?
