I just got a 2006 z400 and it is plenty fast. I don't think u would need anything bigger.

My b-i-l has an 05 Z400, and it's very fast (lots-o-mods), reliable, and best of all...it handles great!

The bike makes you feel very confident, perhaps that can get you into trouble...but I really like it.

You will not regret it. I just bought one last week and i love it. It is the best, feels and handles great, and has a ton of power.

I love mine, I say go for it. Mine is all stock and I can still stand it up in third gear. It's very light and easy to handle.

Very good straight from the factory. If you ever feel like you are outgrowing it, I know a few guys pulling 60HP without nitrous or turbos. You can make them EXTREMELY POTENT if you want to!!

Why doesn't your dale like the woods? I ride with a guy that has a dale and that thing is quite a beast in the woods, at least when he can keep it running. I rode it and it seemed pretty well suited for the mountain riding that we do. We encounter a variety of trails from wide open coal mines to vey tight technical trails with hillclimbs. He never has any problems staying with us.

It's a great all around bike. My daughter has an 04 limited edition and it will stay stock because it's plenty fast for her. It will pull the front wheels up easy and it handles really nice.
