Getting Test ECM for 2005 KQ's
#1
I thought some of you may be interested in this...in June of this year we met with some representatives of Suzuki (from Japan) in regards to the King Quads we had purchased. They wanted our concerns, wants and suggestions which some of you relayed to me. One of the concerns was the bottom end lag everyone was experiencing. I was contacted by the Dealer yesterday and they want me to bring the units in for an ECM replacement. The ECM is the one for the 2006 machines in which they say they think they have corrected the lag. They want my feedback on it and probably will make a recall of all 2005's to replace them if it works. I thought this was very impressive. I will let you all know how it comes out. I wish I could take them out for some testing to obtain hard data for the before and after but I am out of town and will be taking them in as soon as I return. They are also doing a tie rod recall at the same time. The only measure will be the seat of the pants measurement. This may be the "fix" everyone has been waiting for. Stay tuned......

I do find it interesting that they are willing to work with me/us on it. Why would they go to the trouble? I will keep an open mind and see what it does. Thanks for your input though

When did you have this meeting with Suzuki and have they put this "new" ECM in your machine yet? Give me some details please because though I am indeed skeptical, I am also indeed interested. Are you sure you didn't mistake it for just the ECM with the reverse limiter on it?

Hey Razor, how are you doing? I hope alot better than the last time I talked to you.
I am very interested in this, the lag is one of my gripes and I would love to see it go away.
Is the dealer only letting you try it out up in slc? or do you get to take it home? If you do I would love to bring mine by for a little comparison if you dont mind.
Its good to read a post from you again and I hope all is well with you. Take care.

So this guy knows what he's talking about? Absolutely no offense razor, just never seen a post from you before and you must know how all KingQuad owners have pretty much lost hope of anything for the lag until at least January.

Ya he knows what he's talking about. He wouldnt confuse ecm's thats for sure. It does seem weird that they would do this so close to Yoshi's fix if indeed they do work so closely together on projects. Unless this ecm has something to do with Yosh?

I'm thinking it does. However, I don't think this is the ECM going on the mainstream '06s, unless they have somehow decided to forget the lawyers and go-ahead with it. You say it's going to be a recall, razor? This sounds too good to be true.....

On a side note Goblin, what the hell happened to the Cards? I lost some money because I thought it would be a Sox, Cards series. I know they would have shown better than the Astro's did. No offence Astro fans but they just died on the vine. I was in Chicago for the first game and was really looking forward to a good series.
It was you touting the Cards wasnt it?

Yeah, but believe me when I tell you we'll be back next year, especially if we get Brian Giles. Sorry for diverting back to the subject, but I am REALLY interested in this thread. When do you get to try the new ECM out razor?
